Privacy Policy

1. Information We Don't Collect

LoL Esports Twitch Override is built with privacy as a core principle. Your browsing activity and preferences are yours alone.

• We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII).
• We do not track your browsing history.
• We do not collect analytics or usage statistics from the extension.
• We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies in the extension.
• We do not transmit any data to external servers.
• We do not share, sell, or monetize user data.

2. How the Extension Works

The extension operates entirely on your local device.

Local Storage Only

Your preferred co-streamer is saved using Chrome's storage API (chrome.storage.sync).

• Data remains on your device (or syncs via your Google account if enabled).
• No data is sent to our servers (we don't run any servers).
• You can delete it by uninstalling the extension or clearing browser data.

Page Modification

A content script replaces the Twitch embed on lolesports.com locally in your browser — no external communication involved.

3. Permissions Explained

We request only the permissions strictly required for functionality:

• storage: Save your co-streamer preference locally on your device.
• scripting: Inject the code needed to replace the Twitch embed on lolesports.com.
• Host permissions (lolesports.com): Limit the extension to the official LoL Esports website.

These permissions are used exclusively for the core functionality and nothing else.

4. Third-Party Services

The extension itself does not use third-party services. However:

• Twitch: Watching a co-streamer loads Twitch's embed player, which is subject to Twitch's own privacy policy.
• LoL Esports (Riot Games): You remain on lolesports.com; Riot Games' privacy policy applies to that site.

Landing Page Analytics

The marketing website may use basic privacy-friendly analytics to understand traffic. The extension itself includes no analytics.

5. Open Source Transparency

This project is fully open source so you can verify these claims.

6. Data Security

Because we don't collect or transmit any data, there's no data to breach. Your preference is protected by Chrome's storage and your browser security.

7. Children's Privacy

We do not collect data from anyone, including children under 13. No special processing applies beyond our general policy of not collecting data.

8. Changes to This Policy

If our privacy practices change (e.g., adding analytics), we will:

• Update this policy and the "Last updated" date.
• Communicate changes in the extension release notes.
• Request explicit user consent if any data collection is introduced.

Privacy is a core value; any future changes will be transparent and opt-in.

9. Your Rights & Control

We don't hold your data, but you remain fully in control of the extension:

• Uninstall: Remove the extension anytime from Chrome's extensions page.
• Clear Data: Delete stored preferences via the extension popup or by clearing browser storage.
• Disable: Temporarily disable the extension without uninstalling.
